Trump Order Release of Epstein Grand Jury Testimony

President Donald Trump directed Attorney General Pam Bondi on Thursday to “produce any and all pertinent Grand Jury testimony” relating to sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

The order comes after the Wall Street Journal published a story concerning a birthday letter Trump wrote to Epstein that said the pair have “certain things in common.”

“Based on the ridiculous amount of publicity given to Jeffrey Epstein, I have asked Attorney General Pam Bondi to produce any and all pertinent Grand Jury testimony, subject to Court approval,” he wrote in a Truth Social post. “This SCAM, perpetuated by the Democrats, should end, right now!”

Bondi replied on X, “President Trump — we are ready to move the court tomorrow to unseal the grand jury transcripts.”

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said earlier Thursday that Trump “would not recommend” a special prosecutor to investigate the Epstein files. Some MAGA figures, including Laura Loomer, had urged the administration to appoint a special counsel.

“The president would not recommend a special prosecutor in the Epstein case. That’s how he feels,” Leavitt said.

Trump told reporters earlier this week that appointing a special prosecutor was not under his control.

“I have nothing to do with it,” Trump said when asked about appointing a special prosecutor.

The president has called the Epstein files a “scam” and a “hoax,” rebuffing his promise to his supporters that he would release the files. He also slammed his “PAST supporters” for buying “into this ‘bulls***,’ hook, line, and sinker.”
